Good personal protective equipment (PPE) is cheap compared with one injury. Use this checklist to make sure every worker on your site or in your workshop is covered, from head to toe.
Head: the safety helmet
A helmet protects against falling objects and knocks. Choose one that meets a recognised standard such as EN 397, with an adjustable harness so it stays in place when you bend down. In the Kuwait heat, ventilation and a sweatband make a real difference to whether people keep it on.
Visibility: the high-visibility vest
Vests with reflective bands keep workers visible to vehicles and machinery, in daylight and at night. Bright yellow or orange mesh vests are cooler in summer. Extra pockets help when workers carry small tools and ID.
Hands: gloves for the job
No single glove suits every task. Match the glove to the risk.
- Cotton or knitted gloves: light handling and general work.
- Coated gloves: better grip on tools, pipes and wet surfaces.
- Cut-resistant gloves: sheet metal, glass and blades.
Eyes and lungs
Safety glasses or goggles are essential for cutting, grinding and drilling. For dust, fumes and paint spraying, add a suitable mask or respirator. See our guide on choosing one for the right filter level.
Feet and falls
Safety shoes with a steel or composite toe cap and a puncture-resistant sole protect against crushing and nails. Look for the EN ISO 20345 marking. For work above two metres, a full-body harness with a lanyard is required, and it must be inspected before every use.
Frequently asked questions
What PPE is the minimum for a building site?
At least a helmet, high-visibility vest, gloves and safety shoes. Add eye, ear and respiratory protection according to the task.
How often should a safety helmet be replaced?
Follow the maker's date marking, and replace any helmet after a hard impact or if it is cracked, even if it looks fine. Heat and sun also age the plastic.
Can I order safety gear in bulk for a company?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp with quantities and sizes and we will prepare a quotation.
